First make sure your Youtube app is updated in the Google Play Store. If you still get the error message after updating, try the methods below:

Method 1: Uninstall and reinstall YouTube app

  1. Uninstall YouTube app
  2. Re-install it from Google Play
  3. Open YouTube and see if the error is still there

Method 2: Clear cache and data of YouTube app

  1. Go to Settings >> Apps >> All >> scroll down and select “YouTube”
  2. Select “Clear Data” and “Clear Cache”
  3. Open YouTube app and see if the error is resolved

Method 3 (for rooted users with clockworkmod recovery:

  1. Reboot into recovery( power off, press volume down + power button, let go after logo appears)
  2. Go to advanced options >> select “clear dalvik cache”
  3. Reboot system
  4. Open Youtube app

Method 4: Factory reset



If all fails, you will need to factory reset your device, which will most likely fix this issue. First back up all your data to an external SDCard or your hard drive. You can also backup your apps and games using titanium backup. If you are factory resetting your phone, backup your SMS and Contacts by using the free Super Backup: SMS and contacts app from Google Play store.
  1. Go to Settings >>Backup and Reset >> select “factoy data reset”
  2. Confirm and reboot your android tablet or phone.
