Preview: ZenFone 3 Android 7.0 Nougat
The Zenfone 3 was launched during Computex on 30 May 2016. The new smartphone has reached the international market for the suggested price of $249. ZenFone 3 ZE552KL which comes with a 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage; and the ZE520KL with a 5.2-inch display, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. ASUS made significant changes in the design of the new Zenfone 3. It’s thinner, sleeker and more durable with an all-metal aluminum-grade body.
ASUS released two versions of the Zenfone 3 – the ZE552KL with 5.5-inch screen, ZE520KL with 5.2-inch screen. Although varying in screen sizes, the two have Full HD Super IPS+ display mounted with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. Pixel density also differs at 401ppi and 424ppi.
Software is being handled by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with ZenUI 3.0. ASUS made few tweaks for the Zenfone 3’s UI like a more vibrant color scheme and rounder icons.

Android 7.0 Nougat finally has the ability to run two apps on the screen at the same time. This is an excellent solution that many ZenFone users have wanted for a very long time. Even if you don’t use it super often, this is one of those things you’ll be really glad exists when the time comes and you need to see two things on the screen at once.
On N, things are different and mostly for the best. The same file triggers a download notification with a very easy to spot Cancel button.
With Google re-purposing Daydream as the namesake for its VR platform, a new name was needed for the previous Daydream feature. That new name is Screen Saver, which makes so much more sense than Daydream did in its previous incarnation. Android screen savers still work in the same fashion as they always have.
Asus is now being tested in ZenFone 3 Nougat and will release updates when it's really stabilized.
